2024 Secret Gift Shop
Location: Pershing Elementary Library
Date: Monday, December 2 – Thursday, December 5
Time: Students will shop during their classroom’s allotted time or during morning recess shopping (view schedule below)
Prices: Items will range from $1 – $10
***The majority of items are under $5. Only a small number of items are $7 or $10.
Payment: Cash or Digital Voucher (Click here)
Family Closeout Sale: Thursday, December 5th (before and after school)
***This will be the only time students can shop before or after school with their grownup. We understand that it’s fun to be at the shop with your child, but items will be limited by this time as it is whatever we have left after all classrooms have shopped. We encourage families to volunteer during their student’s shopping time/recess if they want to provide direct support.
Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteers that sign up for 2 or more shifts will receive a $5 voucher for their student to use at the shop. One voucher per volunteer.

Additional Information
- How much money would my student need to bring with them?
- Most families send their students with an average of $20, but it really depends on how many people your students is shopping for. The majority of items are priced between $1-$5.
- What is a DigitalVoucher and where do I purchase one?
- You can purchase a digital voucher for your student online on the PTO website under ‘Fundraising Events‘. By purchasing this digital voucher, your student’s name will be added to a securely kept list that the Secret Gift Shop volunteers will have access to. This will enable your child to shop with confidence and they will not need to take cash to school.
- Any unused balance will be counted as a donation to the PTO.
- If you prefer to not buy the voucher, you can send your child to school with cash only. They may use their cash to shop during their class’ assigned shopping time/recess shopping.
- Will I be able to shop in the morning with my student like previous years?
- There will be NO morning or after school shopping for students and their grownups from Monday (12/2) through Wednesday (12/4). However, on Thursday (12/5), the shop will be open before and after school to families for our CLOSEOUT SALE.
- This change is being put in effect to prioritize the student’s shopping options.
- Can I volunteer with my child’s class?
- Yes. We encourage you to sign up during your child’s shopping time, or any other time you can via the SignUp Genius.
- If you cannot attend a full volunteer shift for the gift shop and you still want to help, you can speak with your child’s teacher.
- Can I donate to the Secret Gift Shop?
- Yes, we are accepting new items to be sold at the Gift Shop. You can bring the items to the office, Attn: PTO Secret Gift Shop. Thank you!
- You can contribute a monetary donation using the PTO’s donation page. Please note that your donation is for the Gift Shop when you check out.
- Any monetary donation to the Gift Shop will be used for our sponsorship program, that allows students to shop that would otherwise be unable to.
- What if my child misses their class’ shopping day?
- Your child may shop during any of the recess shopping time slots.
- Your child’s teacher may also send them on Thursday, December 5th during school hours. This is our only makeup day.
- You may bring your child to our Closeout Sale on Thursday, December 5th, before and after school. However, items will be limited that day.
